-====== Status Page ====== +====== [NSFW.social] has been shut down. ======
-This page will be updated to reflect the status of https://nsfw.social and announce any planned or unplanned downtime or updates.+

-You can also join our chat-room hosted by Matrix.org! https://app.element.io/#/room/#nsfw.social:matrix.org to connect with us during this downtime if you want.+As of Sunday, September 13, 2020, https://nsfw.social has been shut downPermanently.

 +Two things have transpired in the last 24 hours that have made this decision come to be.
 +  - A user uploaded some images that were clearly in violation of our terms of service. And while some could argue that perhaps the images didn't necessarily violate the letter of our rules (even if they did violate the spirit) in our belief our rules were violated. We took action against the user specifically and severely limited their account, but that was not the proverbial straw.
 +  - The proverbial straw came this morning when a new user shared 11 images that clearly depicted child sexual abuse material.

 +We notified the proper authorities this morning and provided all the information that we have.

-===== Current Status ===== +We have no desire to be a vessel for child and/ or sexual abuse.
-Chat is down. Everything else is up.+

-:!: **You still need an Email address on your account!** We will be turning on Account Activations at some point in the future to help hold back the onslought of SPAM and troll accounts that keep signing up.+Seriously though. Like what the fuck.

-===== 2020 =====+I am so fucking pissed-off right now.

-==== September ====
-=== September 8, 2020 ===
-  * We will be upgrading to a new software version later on today. Please watch this page for updates and announcements.
-  * The upgrade was a success. Chat is broken. Waiting on a fix.

-
-=== September 7, 2020 ===
-  * Well turns out we triggered a HUGE bug when we upgraded last week or so that prevented anybody from being able to sign-up. We've since deactivated Account Activations but **please make sure you still add an Email address to your profile!** We will be turning Account Activations on at some point in the future to help us deal with an onslought of fake, SPAM, and troll accounts that keep signing up.

-==== August ====
-=== August 31, 2020 ===
-  * We will be performing a site upgrade the end of this month. Please make sure you have a valid Email address added to your account or you will not be able to login.
-  * 9:28 AM - The upgrade was successful, but there is a database migration script that is taking a considerably long time to finish. Apologies for the delay!
-  * 10:07 AM - The database migration is still going. For those technical and curious, this is what we're waiting to finish: ''13:10:03.311 [info]  execute "UPDATE objects SET updated_at = NOW()"''
-  * 10:48 AM - Still going. I just hope I don't run out of disk space on the database server! Problem is, if I stop the process now I just have to start back over from the beginning.
-  * If you are having difficulties logging-in post upgrade, please visit our Chat Room for assistance: [[https://app.element.io/#/room/#nsfw.social:matrix.org]]
-==== January ====
-=== January 19, 2020 ===
-  * Per request, we have enabled the ''Pleroma.Upload.Filter.AnonymizeFilename'' filter, **in addition** to the ''Pleroma.Upload.Filter.Dedupe'' (which was inadvertently left disabled when we moved our uploads to Wasabi).

-===== 2019 =====
-==== December ====
-=== December 20, 2019 ===
-Dec-20-2019 22:20 EST - Situation Normal, All Fucked Up. :-) Just kidding! The database migration finally finished, and aside from some minor hiccups getting everything back up (had to restart pleroma a few times) everything is back to normal! We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience. **Never again!** :-)
-
-Dec-20-2019 19:23 EST - Still waiting. It has been over 5 hours stuck on creating one of these damn indexes. Jesus Christ this is taking a long time! I hate to say this but it might not be until morning before we come back up.
-
-Dec-20-2019 17:56 EST - Here's a pic of our database dashboard and logs as we're running this migration in case you're curious: {{ :ddsmjonty6.png?linkonly |}}
-
-Dec-20-2019 17:31 EST - No new update.
-
-Dec-20-2019 17:02 EST - No new update. Still waiting on the database indexes to be created. It's indexing *every* post sent and received by the instance. It's a lot of posts!
-
-Dec-20-2019 16:34 EST - The delay right now is centered around all the indexes that need to be created. Specifically, this operation has been going on for well over an hour:
-<code>CREATE INDEX activities_visibility_index ON public.activities USING btree (public.activity_visibility(actor, recipients, data), id DESC NULLS LAST) WHERE ((data ->> 'type'::text) = 'Create'::text);</code>
-
-Dec-20-2019 16:00 EST - We are still in the process of migrating our database to an external server. The database has grown so large we're running out of disk space on our server. Apologies for the downtime!
-
-Dec-20-2019 14:00 EST - We have begun migrating our database to a new external server.

-=== November 17, 2019 ===
-Nov-17-2019 18:40 EST - We are upgrading Pleroma from 1.1.3 to 1.1.5. Shouldn't take too long!
-
-=== November 13, 2019 ===
-As of 2019-11-13 everything is normal and no issues have been reported. The site was rebooted earlier today due to a software update requiring a system restart.
