Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 2, 2019

Do not use https://nsfw.social to send or receive confidential information or share anything super-secret. Admins (all admins in the Fediverse actually) have the ability to read your private communication very easily.

Consider anything you post or share on https://nsfw.social or any other site in the Federation to be public. Even if you have set the privacy flags on your toots/ tweets/ posts/ or statuses. Those privacy flags are nothing more than metadata and provide no actual protection. Only post what you won't be afraid of sending publicly.

You don't have to use your real name to register an account, and we don't care if you do or don't.

You don't even need to give us your Email address, but if you don't it will be impossible for you to reset your password, and no we won't reset it for you. Under any circumstances.

Anything you post and upload belongs to you and you are wholly responsible for the contents and any fallout from doing so.

We flat out unequivocally have no plans to and will not use anything you post, upload, or otherwise share for any purpose other than to host the site and serve the content.

We have placed no trackers on the site and have no plans to add any.

We use CloudFlare

Heads up! We do use CloudFlare. We know this can be a sore and sticky subject for some. Tough shit though. Specifically we use CloudFlare to host and provide security services for our sites. So…

…Your traffic will go through CloudFlare before it reaches us, and it will traverse CloudFlare on its way back from our servers to you.

CloudFlare has their own Privacy Policy that is available here: https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/.

If you're concerned about CloudFlare, us, or anybody else tracking your activity, pick a VPN from the list at https://privacytools.io.

TOR

We do not support TOR and have no plans to do so. The nature of federated social media makes doing so problematic unless the site operator is willing to proxy ALL inbound and outbound request and data.
